It was stated by one of the members of the board that . several of the property owners on the avenue are favorable to / the plan and that the ’ railroad company, on which would fall the greater.part of the expense, is not unfavorable to such a project to improve the city. The matter was discussed at lenght and .will be taken up again in the near future in greater detail,The Keepers franchise ordin- lt;ance was adopted, this move being the final step in granting the franchise for George Keepers to install and operate an electric • lighting and power system in this city.The'Santa Fe R. II. asked for a permission to lay tracks on Railroad avenue for passenger train traffic during the construction of the new depot and Harvey house. That part of the street from the brick plant to a point near First street was mentioned. The request”was -granted. The tracks will be laid to the north side of the avenue and will riot interfer with the street traffic to any extent. Jt is expected that the station, will be removed.
