Fisher's Im( Wednesday was a great sueoMW. over 146 being ra'sed for patriotic purposes.The ecitoUra at the school are contributing weekly to a fund to provide comforts for the soldiers.I The Narrow Lake Homemakers held thtir second social of the season last Friday evening at the home of Mrs. M. Stephenson, and In spite of the fact that two two other social functions had been held that week in Narrow Lake, there was a good number out; between fifty and sixty being present. A programme had been arranged and spveral items lt;musMj much fun and amusement, especially the ftthyard dash and the doll dressing competition fur gentlemen. the prise of the latter being %o«l by Lien Johnston. Just before supper great excitement was crest-*1 by the balooQ ascent, it being the fimt event of that kind lo take! ‘ place in the district. A bag of flour given by Mrs. N. Mullett was auctioned off and realised 110.25, which, with the reflection taken, brought the proceeds of the evening to $27. The thanka of the club aredue to all those who helped to make* the evening a sneer**.G. MuxJow had the misfortune to' lose a norse this week.
