SAM CHADWICK IS PREPARING FOR ATRIALJ. W, Robertson of Checotah ishere conferring with W G. Robertson, preparing for the trial of Sam Chaddick, which w!H, soon be held at Checotah. Chaddick is accused of the murder of Tuck Thomborry. The men were members of the crowd who were said to have been connectedwith the MeAIford-Davis feud in McIntosh county., Cicero Davis was slain by an unknown assassin, being shot from'ambush while he was. driving from Por-um to his home in the country. Al-ford w’as arrested charged wifeh the crime. His first trial In Checotah resulted in a hung jury. His second trial in Muskogee, one of the hardest fought legal battles of the old territorial days, resulted in Alford’s acquittal. He had not been freed two weeks until he too was shot from ambush and slain in much the same manner as Davis. No effort was made to apprehend his Blayers. Following this Tuck Thornberry, one of tihe witnesses in the case, was killed. Sara Chaddick was held for the murder.Judge Robertson and his brother of this city and bis brother will defend him.
