A Pleasant Evening.Miss Mary Nutt entertained a few of her friends very charmingly last Friday evening, ir. homlr of Miss Lily Green, of McDonough. This popular vnung lady was the guest ot Miss Nutt for a few days and was the re cipient of many social courtesiesduring her brief visit.On this occasion Miss Green was exceedingly pretty in a delicate gown of ‘ baby blue” and white. The hostess appeared, if possible, more charming than usual in a suit of dark green cloth with cream velvet trimmings.With Crokinole, Areherena and music, dainty refreshments and interesting “tete-a-tetes” to beguile the hours away ; the evening passed all too quicKly, and each one present would have been glad could ‘time have turned bacKvvard in his flight just for that night.” and permitted them to‘‘resume and begin agaia” (to borrow a phrase from Betsy Hamilton) at the ‘‘starting point,” 8:30' and live the evening over. But as ‘ Father Time” waits for no man, neither gay young people, the young ladies and gentlemen present submitted to the inevitable and as the clock ceased striking the hour of twelve they bade their hostess goodnight and the remembrance of such a pleasant evening will long live in the memory of her guests.Those present were : Misses Nina Harris, Lily Green, Nellie Higgins, and Mary Nutt; Messrs. L. L. Mason. Asa Buttrill, Floyd Etheridge, S. H. Thornton and W. W. Wright.
