Sharpley’s Evidence Contradicted MELBOURNE, Feb. 15: Three more withewes at the Royal Commission on Com munism today contradicted evidence given last year by a former Communist leader, Cecil Herbert Sharpley. They were George Henry Wood and George Seelaf, organiser and secretary, respectively, of the Meat “Industry Employees Union, and Richard Diamond, Victorian divisional secretary of Actors Announcers’ Equity. ‘Wood said that he had always been a militant but never a secret member of the Com munist Party. Diamond said that he had been a member for the Communist Party, be tween 1938 and 1944, but had not been a member since his Present secretarial appointment in Diamond also denied a state ment by Sharpley that he had, by arrangement with Diamond, sent to Diamond Communist, who could be used in Actors’ Fauity ¢ until was adi am, tomorrow,
