Lembke, 22, Merchant Marine sea man, concerning his plea to charges at murder, rape, and lewd and las civious conduct. Lembke, indicted in the death of Lanie Marvine Sumner, 345, was arraigned in Supering Court yester day and date for pleading set for, February 25. Clarendon 4 ¥, Anderson of Santa Rosa and J. J. Leroy Wely of Healdsburg, were appointed as de fense counsel by Superior Judge Donald Geary after Lembke sul lenly declared that he lacked funds for an attorney. Lembke, Lembke assertedly attacked the girl and beat her fatally on Febru ary 2—the same day her father, Roy Sumners, a Navy torpedoman, was reported missing in action with an American submarine.
