Reznor was born in Hartley township, Union county, Pa., August aa, 2822, and died February io, i893( aged 70 years, 5 months and 18 days. He received his early education in the common schools of his native county and at Mifflinburg Academy, He ..learned the business of milling and was engaged in it during the time he lived in Greenville. On October 7,1847, lie was married to Ellen Beatty, of Salem township, this county, by the Rev. David Wagoner, (Mrs, Rezuor died May 21 1S72,) The newly married couple begun housekeeping at Bagdad, near Leech's Corners, where they lived about 9 years At this place three children were born, Frank, Belle, now Mrs. Armstrong, and Alice, In 1856 he was elected Treasurer of Mercer county, when the family moved to Mercer, remaining there two years during his term of office. It was here that John was born, From Mercer they moved to a farm some miles east of Greenville, now called the SanKey farm, and remained four or five years. It was while he was on the farm that he served as Commissioner of the Draft in-1862.. Here the union was blessed with a daughter, Effls, now Mrs. Austin, In i860 he was elected a “Ruling Elder1' in the Presbyterian Church of Greenville, and three years later, in 1863, the family moved to Greenville, when Mr. Reznor formed a business partnership with John Stinson. When Mr. Stinson died Mr. Wm. Achre became a partner in the business. Here Mr. Reznor lived the rest of bis days serving the church acceptably as Ruling Elder for nearly 33 years, and died as above stated, While living in Greenville two more children were borii to this happy union, Maude and Ada. In 1877 Mr. ReznQr served with credit to himself and to his county as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Thomas M. Reznor was a good man, As a Christian he was faithful; as a citizen he was dignified, honest,, and selfrespecting; as a father and husband he was kind, loving, gen. tie j and as a friend he was true. Much more might be said, but his fife speaks for itself. He has gone to his reward* the reward of the Christian. ,c. b. w.
