Beating victim, 61. diesA 61-vear-old East St. Louis man died Thursday of injuries suffered when he. his wife and mentally retarded son were beaten with bars and gun butts by terrorists who invaded their home in the latest outbreak of racial violence.Police said the victim. George Horvat. and his family were the last whites remaining in the neighborhood and that the attack “fits the patterns of several other terrorist beatings reported in that area. All were white victims and black assailants/’ said Terrence Delany of the Illinois State Police.
