Cincinnati Reds Sign Negro PlayersCINCINNATI, Feb. 15. (INS)— The Cincinnati Reds today announced the signing of four Negro baseball players into their National league farm club organization.Outfielder Charles Stewart, 22, and infielder Don Johnson, 22,The missionary circle of the Church of God, Conver street, invites the public to attend its program Sunday, February 17, 3:30 p. m. The guest speaker will be Rev. RH. Keyes, a native student of God’s Bible. Mrs. L. Evrett is president of the circle. Rev. H. Hill, is pastor of the church.Are You Registered?both of Covington, Ky., will join Ogden of the class C pioneer league. Both men played previously with the Baltimore Bruins and the Chicago American Giants.Gilbert Jones, 20-year-old Pittsburgh short-stop, has been signed to play with Burlington, Iowa, in the class B Three-I league and Pitcher Jim Summers of Rankin, Pa., will join the same club.Rankin played formerly with the Pittsburgh Moncrchs.WEATHER FORECASTFair and a little warmer today. Highest 30 to 35 in north and 35 to 40 south portion. Fair and rather cold again tonight, lowest 15 to 20 north and 20 to 25 south portion. Saturday cloudy with rain or snow south portion by afternoon or evening and chance of snow north portion by night.
