Programs were offered and during the evening cake and punch were served. The commit tee cleared about thirty dollars which will buy many new good books.Tho Mutual play company made their second appearance before tho Roosevelt public in Tho Bachelor’s Elopement. Tho play was a very interesting comedy. The next appearance will bo made in Interest of the library.Lincoln's birthday was kept as a legal holiday In Roosevelt, Stores were closed, schools dismissed and business house closed for the day. Interesting programs were given by the children to the public. In many states this is not a legal holiday but in Utah it became one by state legislation in tho year of 1909.A dance was given by the Mutual Monday night to celebrate Lincoln's birthday. A large crowd entered into to sport of dancing several “Hoe-down” dances.The Odd Fellow’s have sent JnvK tatlons for tho Tenth Anniversary dance which be held next Saturday night In the Amusement hall.The Thimble club met at the homo of Mrs. Pearl Christensen Friday. About sixteen members were present, Delicious refreshments were served:Mr. C. I. Johnson and Mr. J.' H. Hardy are visiting tho different branches of the church and closing up the account for the year 1916.President Smart Is visiting with his children here.Mrs. A H. Whitlock, Sr., is very sick. She has been confined to her bed for some time.Mrs. W. A. Miles was entertained by her daughters at a large family dinner. It was sawed at tho Mo Cune mill and will be used In the construction of homes for Indian land owners near Myton.Orson Barney and family are visiting with relatives Mr, James Prows' family with whom their daughter Ardlth ’has been spending tho winter. Mr, Barney is the bishop oftlje Clawson ward in Jlmeir county.Hazen Heath Burgess, a member of the town has been suffering from a severe case of pneumonia for some timo past but happy to say the young man is improving in health and strength.Mrs, George McCKurdy, formerly of Myton but at present a resident of Vernal Is now visiting with friends In town and incidentally attending to some of Mr. McCurdy's business interest.Steven Stoddard aud Violet Chl-destei* young folks of the com mu.nity having obtained license of the■connty clerk have embarked together on matrimony's sea of varied experiences and they do so with the best wishes of their numerous friends, hoping that through it all they will find joy and happiness.Mr. Lawrence Bradley has sold out, disposed of all his property at this place. Luke Cleg is the purchaser and obtained possession, at a very reasonable price, Mr. Bradley will move to Idaho,Under tho auspices of the ward Relief society a large company of friends appeared at the home of Mr. Lawrence Bradley on Saturday even-* Ing last surprising them Immensely. It assumed the nature of a farewell party to the departing family. Making allowance for the regrets of the public over losing this estimable family the assembled friends had a real good time together for the last time. The best wishes of the public accompany their departure and it Is hoped that they will prosper financially and b blessed boh spiritually and physically in the new locality they may choose to live.The young friends of Thelma Bradley entertained in her honor at tho home of Mr. Martin Allred. This was also on Saturday evening and an enjoyable time was spent by the young people,Herman Schmteglow and Albert Dastrup have returned from Price to which place they recently conveyed the remains of Arzella Bell Millard tho deceased Infant of J. M. Millard.Claud Searles, accompanied by his father and mother, Mr, and Mrs. George Searles and one of hi a Bisters, arrived in town last Sunday for a brief visit.+ * ♦+ * + ♦ ♦ * *BLUEBELL * * ♦ + ♦♦♦President Joseph Hardy and Mr. Clarence Johnson spent Sunday last in the ward. They visited at the ro llglous services of the day and their visit proved spiritually profitable to the members of the ward who attended the services in large numbers.A large quantity of ice was stored for summer use by the following thrifty members of the town, vis: Levlson .Hancock, James Powell, Gardner Goodrich and Ralph Winkler.
