DIED.Mrs. Margaret Henkel, wife of Siram P. Henkel, deceased, was born March 6, 1890, and died at her home, Plains Mill, Rocking, ham county, Va., February 6,1899; aged 78 years, 11 months, and 1 day.Her last illness was through several weeks. She bore the trials of life with resigned sub. mission to the Lord's will. She was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church May 80, 1885, and remained firm in the faith unto the end of her earthly pilgrimage. She always did her duty in the church, as well as In all the relations of life which she sustained, and being now dead she yet speaketh. Being blessed with a cheerful disposition she won to herself a number of friends. None spoke of her save in terms of praise. Having lived a pious life, we believe she has secured a triumphant death, that she is forever safe and happy iu that rest which remains for the people of God,On Juno 80, 1885, she entered the mar-riage relation with Siram P. Henkel. She lived pleasantly in this relation for a number of years and became the devoted mother of thirteen children—eight are living and five are dead. She had 50 grandchildren—thirty-eight are living and twelve are dead. Her great-grandchildren were fifteen in number. Eleven are living and four dead. She survived her husband more than nineteen years. She was a true wife and mother, a generous neighbor and friend. Her funeral was con-ducted and the sermon preached by her pss-tor and the writer of this notice, Key. J. Paul Stirewalt, Rev. E. H. Kohn taking part in the services and making some remarks.
