cnnanooa.In 1880 she met and fell in love with Wesley J. Saip. They were married the same year and to them was born four sons, Ed, Joe, Frank and George and six daughters, Mrs. Emma Lahodny, Mrs. J. W. McChes-ney, Mrs. Sophia Fulton, Mrs. Anna Sturm, Mrs. Frances Longwell and Mrs. Mary Kasparek whose untimely | passing in 1930 broke the family circle.Together they lived and loved, laughed and cried, working together trying to make ends meet when the crop failures and drouths of the nineties came. So many mouths to feed, so many bodies to clothe Sickness, bills, fires and loss of cattle and hogsThey suffered the agonies caused to all parents when they saw the World War coming on knew they had the same little Bohemia near Prague, grown sons who would answer the call. George and Frank enlisted and served during the war. Ed tried to go but on account of poor eyesight was turned down. The waking hours when there was al ways the dreed that any telephone ring might be a knell or any letter might be a message of death to them. Then the great rejoicmg when the Armstice was signed and the sons returned safely, and unharmed.They knew the pangs of grief in losing their oldest daughter and several graad-children and a son-in-law. But with all the grief and worry there was greet jov at times too. Parties and .dances; literary meetings at school houses; evenings at home with the family around them with music and dancing ana singing; neighbors coming in for taffy pulls, crrd playing and so on. They derived joy in doing for others.Their golden wedding anniversary celebration is a bright spot when they had passed the half-century mark with their family around them.
