FRANK MARTIN 18 DEAD.Prominent Alumnus Succumbs After An Operation toRcllcvc Prrasurc oil tho Braln.About three weeks ago, Frank Martin, *’05, wfio was treasurer of the Indiana Trust Co., Indianapolis, suffered a nervous breakdown. He was removed on February 0th to a hospital, where an operation to relieve a tumor on the brain was performed, but he did not rally and death followed shortly afterwards.Mr. Marlin was one of Franklin’s most brilliant students and successful alumni. When in college he displayed his ability as a natural born lender. He was the college’s orator lo the slate contest, a member of IJie Pericles inn Literary Society and of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was ejected alumni orator of the alumni association after his graduation.A year after his graduation he entered the state auditor’s office as deputy, which position he held for six years. After leaving the state auditor’s office, Mr. Martin accepted tile position of treasurer of the Indiana Trust Company, which position he held until the time of his death. He was prominent in the Indiana Bankers’ Association, and at thejr last meeting was elected vice-president. This put him in line for president at the next meeting.In 1902 Mr. Marlin was fleeted commander-in-chief of the Sons of Veterans of the United States. He was a Scottish Hite Mason, Shriner, a Modern Woodman, and a member of the Board of Trade, the Columbia club, the Marion club, aud was a member of the Central 'Avenue Methodist church in Indianapolis.Mr. Marlin is remembered as a splendid Christian young man. His genial and affable manner made friends with all whom he met.
