Hampton, Tax Collector of Jones county, died at 12:05 o'clock this morning in tbe Stamford Sanitarium after an operation for Peritonitis He ,wi!l be' buried at four o’clock this afternoon at the Mount Hops cemetery, Aneon. Rev. J. H. Edmonds will conduct the service and the Masons will be in charge at the grave.Sketch of His Life.Mr. Hampton was forty years of age. He was born near Monroe City, Mo., and came to Jones county fourteen years ago. He wag in business at d jTrurby for a number of years and y married Miss Lina Cranston, daughter of the let© William Cranston, November 5, 1901. He loaves a widow and four children, the oldest seven years of aset Hie youngest n baby. There are also two sisters and two brothers.Wife May Succeed Hfm.A petition will be presented to the Commissioners court of Jones county asking ihat Mrs. Hampton be appointed Tax Collector of tbe county to succeed her husband.l-e.
