Rev. Isaac Barret of Lockhart town ship, died at his home Monday eve ning. The funeral services were held Tuesday by Elder J. M. Burch and burial at the Barrett cemetery. Isaac Barrett was born April 11, 1S12. Enlisted in the “0th regiment of Indiana volunteers Co. H, August 1, 1su2. Served three years, was hon orably discharged at the expiration of his time. He was converted to the Christian religion in boyhood. Soon after he united with the General Baptist church, was licensed to preach the gospel, and was ordained to the full functions of the gospel, in which office he served faithfully until death. He was argued in matrimony to Louise Brewster, August 10, 1805. From this union was boron twelve children, seven boys and five girls, who are all living. He leaves a wife and twelve children to mourn his death. To his death the family have lost a loving companion and a faithful father, the community a kind and good neighbor, his country a patriotic citizen, the church an ardent, pious christian, the ministry a faithful, earnest, untiring minister, but our loss is his eternal gain, having fought the good light of faith, hath laid a hold of that eternal life set before him in God's word. and as we believe hath enftered into the full joys of the redeemed of the Lord, to await the coming of his family, of which death has made it a broken family on earth, to an unbroken family in hearer. He that goeth forth weeping sowing precious seeds, shall doubtless come again rejoicing, brining his sheaves with him. J. M. BURCH.
