J. T. Mayor made a business trip to Keyes last Friday. What was wrong with Sunday ? Why nothing but a Scotch blow. Jas. T. Mayor had the misfor tune to lose a fine cow last Sunday. Mr. Gee. McCrae, Sr., is confined to the house with an attack of the Ingrippe. A. Burien has engaged with Mr. Jas. McCrae for one year to run his farm here. Geo. Grantham, Sr. was the successful tenderer for the Pales tine school wood. Rumors say that a couple of new houses will be built in this district with the opening of spring. Wm. McCrae, Jr., returned home from the woods last week, after spending the last three months there. We are glad to report that Mr. and Drs. George McCrae’s (jr.) youngest son is now doing as well as would be expected. The schools througout this dis trict are being furnished with a newsset of maps, and also the lat est improved chart. They were purchased from Mr. Dunlop, the travelling agent (Recesse too late for last week) Lagrippe prevails in nearly every house in the settlement. A four horse team loaded with the Young folks of Maple took in the evangelist meeting in Keyes last week, and report having as splendid drive A very social gathering took place at the residence of Mr. Oli ver G. Grantham last Friday even ing, when he again threw open his new house to the young folks of the surrounding district by giving them another social hop, which was a splendid affair, and thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended. The dancing started early in th evening, and was kept up unto daylight next morning.
