Tuesday at G o’clock the report tliafc another man bad boeu killed in tbe same manner caused ! some excitement:' Investigation resulted in fjuding that Win. Deirsleir, a laborer, aged 46, had bean at work on tbe ground floor under the elevator which id used m one of tbe shops, and the same one that killed tbe boy. Ho was shoveling -away brick and mortar that had fallen upon the floor while repairs were being made, the day before.Without the slightest warning tbe’car begm; to descend, and before bo could rnu out, caught bitu and be was crushed to the floor, there being but four inches of apace left for him;—the width of a scantling which stood on tbe narrow side. He was imprisoned but a moment, the elevator ascending to the top story. Ho was picked up and carried to tbo office, and. ut first it wus thought his injuries were fatal. Accompanied by Mr. H. C. Stiiver, the injumid ma» was removed to ■his home, 514 English street, uud Dr. F. J. Pope called. He found tho man's breast badly bruised aud several ribs fractured. Strange to say'the tuau is not severely hurt internally, though ho was pinched in such a narrow place.
