Tramps’ Retreat. For some time past a number of tramps have been camping in tho brush southwest of the city, and have been, as usual, very annoying to some of tho citizens.Since their arrival-hero there has been some thieving going on at tho U. P. depot; one of the company’s freight cars was broken into and nine hams were stolen from it. On another occasion a box containing bottles of coloring was taken from the platform and some of the hollies abstracted; but we believe they were recovered. Other petty thefts had been perpetrated, but the stealing has not been traced to any one ofthese tramps.Cast nigbt, about 0 o’clock, tbo police officers and a force of mere went into the brush and discovered the tramps5 retreat. Some of them had made dug-outs, into which they had conveyed a number of coarse sacks and other articles. Hero they were camping. No arrests were made, but they were allowed to remain in their retreat until this morning, when they were told, that if they did not leave this section of the country, they would be arrested and taken to jail. Whether tho exiles have effected their exodus, to-day, or not, wo have not learned.Snlelde.l T T _ _ ___Dfti
