Several witnesses repored to having passed Shenandoah Street, but did not see the prisoner. The defense was ably conducted by Maers vs. Botta and Green. The grand jury can cun today with bills of indictment against Owen Brown and Francis J. Merriam and Jeremiah Anderson, charging them with conspiring with slaves to create insurrection.
