THURSDAY February 14, 1765.GEORGIA. _By bis Excellency JAMES WRIGHT, Efqui/e, Captain-General and Governor in chief of bis Majefty's province of Georgia, Chancellor and Vice-Admiral of the fame,A PROCLAMATION. ITEREAS I have received information that feveral paper bills have appeared to be fhade in imitation of the lawful paper bills of credit of this province, and which falie bills have .been uttered and palled as the genuine and lawful paper bills of credit of this province, to the great prejudice of {undry of his Majefty’s good fub-jefis* IN ORDER THEREFORE to deter o-thers from fuch illegal and wicked praices, and for difcovcring and bringing to juftice the parties concerned therein, I DO hereby offer a REWARD of FIFTY POUNDS STERLING,,to be paid by his Majefty’s treafurer for this province, to fuch peri'on or perfons as ihall difcover any or either of the offenders, fo as they, or any or either of them, may be apprehended and convicted of the faid offence : AND for the better difcovery in the premifes, I DO hereby alfo pro-tnife (over- and above the faid reward of fifty pounds) his Majefty’s moft gracious pardon tlt;t any one of the parties concerned, (except the perfon or perfons who aually ingraved the plate or plates ufed in making fuch falfc bills) who Ihall difcover his or her accomplice or accomplices therein, fo that he, flie, or they, miy be apprehended and eonvied' thereof.Given under my hand and the great fcal of his Majefty’s faid province, at Savannah, the eleventh day of February, in the year of erar Lord one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-five, and in the fifth year of his Majefty’s reign.Wtary’s-Office, JAMES WRIGHT.
