Post-Crescent News Service GREEN BAY — Lloyd Eaton won Bart Starr's respect prior to and during the National Football League draft and, consequently, has earned a position on his staff. Starr, general manager and head coach of the Green Bay Packers, con firmed Wednesday night that Eaton would remain with the club as director of college scouting. Earlier, Starr had asked Eaton to temporarily remain with the team through the draft. “We heard a lot about Lloyd Eaton from Dave Hanner and others who have been with the organization,” said Starr, “and I really came to appreciate what they were saying in respect to his ability while observing him during the recently completed draft. “He was beautifully organized and in complete control. There was an air of confidence in the room from the stand point of knowing this person was con trolling this very important facet of our game. “Lloyd has a reputation for being a dedicated, hard-working, no-nonsense person, and I like those qualities. I'm just delighted he wants to remain with the organization. All of our coaches and I are looking forward to working with him in the future.” Eaton joined the Packers in May of 1972 as Dan Devine’s director of player personnel. And although his title has changed, his duties remain largely the same. Prior to joining the Packers, Eaton served as a scout for the QUADRA com bine.
