The play “A Ready-Made Family,” given by young people of the Methodist church, Wednesday, evening at the Lancaster school house, was well at tended. Those taking part were Ruth Crawley, Edward Buttron, Verna Hem brough, Emma Buttron, Frances Ander son, Maxine Hegland, John Adcock and John Buttron. Proceeds amounted to $23. The ladies of the church served a lunch and cleared $13. Mrs. Karl Pubrman directed the play Wiliam Thorne, who has been threa tened with pneumonia following the flu, is a little better. His father Edwin Thorne is also ill. Chester Preeborn is doing the work at both places Esther Marie Morgan will celebrate her eighth birthday Monday Mrs. Kate. Hinz has returned from Soldier where she spent a month with her sister, Mrs. Sophia Myer. Next Wednesday is Agros day. See the announcement, page 3. Mrs. Edward Stutz entertained the Willing Helpers club Thursday. Mrs Otto Kanning is a new member of the club. In contests, prizes were won by Mrs. John Olson and Mrs. Chester Adcock. There was an exchange of gifts from a white elephant box. Mrs. Gus Stutz invited the club to meet at her home February 25. Mr. and Mrs. George Hint of Ef fingham, Mrs. Roy Lott, Valley Fails and Mrs. Arch Wilson attended the funeral services for Mrs. Christina Lukashavac in Kansas City Tuesday. Mrs. August Becker is about the same. Her daughter, Mrs. Tom Norman of Oskaloosa is with her now. Pupils and teachers of the Lancaster school had a valentine party Priday.
