Colonel Sellers Tells Chamber of Commerce Directors This Would Prolong Many Trav elers’ Stay Here. The establishment of a camping ground for automobile tourists was urged by Col. D. K. B. Sellers yester day afternoon before the board of directors of the Chamber of Com merce. This, said Colonel Sellers, would make Albuquerque a resting place for tourists. Many of them wish to rest when they have reached Albuquerque, he said, and an attractive camping cround would hold them here for several days It would also make boosters of them. The plan has work ed Successfully in Denver. The site of the old Airdome was suggested as a desirable camping ground. The First National bank, owner of the lots, will permit their being used free of charge. The city would furnish free water to tourists and police the ground, acccording to Colonel Sellers’ plan. He said 8200 would fence the place and place it in suitable condition The board of directors appointed a committee to investigate the plan. heommittee will report to the board which will take final action.
