—A most remarkable change has come, with regards to St. James’ church, Baltimore. The steadily increasing congregations, growing Sunday school and general enthusiasm and activity of its members are indicative of great things for the future in this venerable parish. Many improvements have been made of late, and not the least is the beautiful gilded cross which crowns its tall spire, and which has taken the place of the fish wjiich hitherto adorned it. The cross was the gift of a relative of the late Burwell Banks, Esq.,for a number of years an honored vestryman of the church, and it stands as a memorial to him. 1
