He entered the Navy in July 1977 and attended boot camp in Orlando.He completed Electrician's Mate “A School at Great Lakes, 111. From there, he completed Nuclear Power School at Orlando, Fla. followed by Nuclear Power Training Unit, SIC, Windsor, Conn. Upon completion of training, he was selected for a follow-on tour as a staff instructor.In July 1981, Dassance reported to the submarine USS Sargo (SSN 583) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He qualified in submarine warfare and as an Engineering Watch Supervisor. Subsequent assignments include Electrician’s Mate “C” School, where he was an honor graduate; submarine USS Greenling (SSN 614); and senior instructor, Electronics Division, Electrician’s Mate Department, Nuclear Field “A” School, where he was designated a master training specialist.Dassance left active duty in July 1989 and immediately joined the U. S. Naval Reserve. In June 1999, Dassance was recalled to active duty where he served as StaffCommand Master Chief for Commander, Fleet Air Mediterranean.Dassance attended the Senior Enlisted Academy in January 2001, served as the Command Master Chief, Sea Control Squadron 32 (VS-32) Maulers from March 2001 to March 2004, the Command Master Chief for Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet from March 2004 to May2006, and as the Command Master Chief, carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) from May 2006 until August 2007.In August 2007, Dassance was selected as the Network Warfare Command Force Master Chief.His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Cqjps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (four awards), and various service and unit awards.Anjola was the Director, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (CMC/COB) in Newport, which he assumed in July2007. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 71, and became director of SEA in February 2009.Anjola is currently a master’s candidate at Norwich University.
