Miss Betsy Evans, 76, died at her home southwest of Roland Saturday after 2, six weeks illness. She suffer ed a stroke a week before her death. Funeral services were held yesterday at Bergen Lutheran pharch of which she was a lifetime menter She had lived on the farm three miles south west of Roland all her life. An obit uary will be published next week. MRS. THEODORA KAHRS Mrs. Theodora Storaker Kahrs was born in Norway April 18, 1873. Her parents were Johann Théodora and Elizabeth Maria Storaker. Mrs. Kahrs came to the United States in 1892 with her mother, to the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Rev. and Mrs. G. Smedal, in Winnebago County Town. In 1894 they accompanied the Smedals to Roland. Mrs. Kahrs received her education, in Norway and was a photographer in Roland for a number of years. In June 1905 Mrs. Kahrs was mar ried to Ole L. Rasmussen, who died in 1915 and in 1928 she was united in marriage to L. C. Kahrs, who also pre ceded her in death eight years ago. Mrs. Kahrs was found dead in her home in Story City Thursday noon, af ten neighbors noticed her morning mail had not been removed from the mailbox. Relatives who were noti fied found her dead in her bed. The doctor who was called said she had died in her sleep during the night of a heart attack. Mrs. Kahrs was active in church work, having taught Parochial school and Sunday School for many years; she was also active in young people's work and a faithful member of the La dies Aid. She was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. _ Mrs. Kahrs moved to Story City with her husband, where she made her home for the last twenty years. Mrs. Kahrs is survived by one sis ter, Mrs. Smedal of Roland, two step daughters, Mrs. Chris Leerberg of Io wa Fally and Mrs. Fred Peterson of the State of Washington, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the St. Petri Lutheral Church in Story City preceded by short prayer service at the home. The services were in charge of Rev. S. T Nelson. Mr. Otto Hanson sang two solos “Behold a Host” and “Abide with“Me” at the funeral. Casket bearers were Sherman Holm, Carl Matheson, ‘L. B. Brattebo, Burton, Gandrup, Henry Kreutner and Theodore Larson. ‘Burial took ‘place in the Roland ce metery.
