ROUND BARNSWith an eye to progress and convenience, some farmers are recommending a wroundl” barn, The conventional square or oblong building is being abandoned in favor of roundnes-s. There may be much too support' the idea. Ins fact there is, when we study the claims of men who know. We cannot very well argue- with plans and measurements. They have to be accepted because of their very correctness. Most of us have heard of the huge turntable upon which livestock were housed at a famous American world’s fair. As the turntable revolved, attendants would perform .some duty assigned each one. You see, the work was carried ’round to them. Now round barns will not be- expected to turn like a little world on an axis, The men and boys working therein will probably accomplish their duties1 with less turning though), and1 less of the arduous labor connected with farm work. We- do not look for an instant rush to the round1 barn plan, -Farmers are keen however, to accept anything that will make things' better. iSouie will want a round barn because the neighbor already has one. Others will see the saving of space and1 the convenience claimed in the doing of chores-. A few will welcome the sanctuary of a cornerless building in the hope that the devil won’t catch them.
