An almost invincible squad of sturdy Lumberjacks cracked under the strain and lost their hardest battle of the season to date when they failed to stop the onslaught of growling Lo-bos who seemed inspired with additional frenzy on the eve of victory.It was a beautiful game, for a while. The Jacks took the lead 7 to 2 in the first few minutes, and doggedly held the edge until the first period neared its end. Gradually the tall visitors .crept forward, and at the gun for the half had tied the score 13 to 13. During those first few minutes Millerseemed to have an uncanny power over the ball, flipping, tossing and throwing from all angles to score for his fellow axemen.Gove Allen had been sick all night before and • was sadly off form. He played a few minutes and was replaced. Wilson was going like mad, playing circles around the lengthy wolves. With the loss of Allen, Zaner, who is his playing mate in the offensive game, w*as at a loss and his game suffered in its turn.On the other hand speedy Captain Good of the Lobos was in high spirits and supported by Seery and Gross, both able to outreach any Lumberjack by half a foot, he led his team in tne comeback.
