Wednesday of last week Mrs. Morton Goats, a comparatively young woman living near Copeland postoffice, met with an accident that Inis already cost her the loss o: one of her lower limbs anti may yet result fatally. At the time of the accident Mrs. Goats was riding on a sawlog with i her husband. The team driven by I Mr. Goats became unruly and tilted the wagon, causing the log to roll off. Mrs. Goats was caught beneath the log, her limb being badly broken and : horribly mangled. Several hours passed before medical aid could reach i her. Irs. Hamilton, Hunter and Holloway responded to a summons and after examination found amputation id the limb imperative, the operation I being immediately performed. Kn route home Tuesday of this week from a second visit. Ii*. Holloway stated i Mrs. Goats was not doing so well as she should and that a second operation may be necessary, provided her | condition improved sufficient for her| to undergo the ordeal.
