The principal shipping business for the Los Angeles Valley is to be restored again to the Natural Harbor f ar Alamitos Bay. This Bay extends inland a distance of 12,000 feet, with a depth of 12 to 22 12 feet, and a width of 200 to 1300 feet, according to recent actual surveys and measure ments. The Los Angeles and Ocean Rail way are now pushing the work of ‘construction from Los Angeles to ‘Alamitos Bay vigorously. Three heavy lumber dealers and a strong coal company, who own ex tensive mines are seeking wharves and yard grounds at Alamitos Bay. The greatest development and most rapid improvement and enhancement in values ever made on the Ameri can Continent will be at Alamitos Bay in the next 12 months. 7 For the purpose of inaugurating improvements and making business for the railroad, the Directors of the Los Angeles and Ocean Railway have authorized the Secretary, J. W. Green, No. 118 West First street, A. W. Barrett Co., No. 6 Court street, and George H. Bixby, W. W. Lowe and G. W. Atwood, of Long Beach, to sell 200 choice business and resi dence lots at Alamitos Bay at merely nominal prices. The sale will commence Monday, February 6th, at these agencies. Fifty-seven of these lots are now engaged, or applied for, before any mapa could be prepared, and these few lots will surely be taken in a brief time.
