The Las Vegas City Commis sion Tuesday set a date for a hearing on an adult bookstore and instructed the city attorney to consider another hearing for a massage parlor. The commissioners also denied the license applications of three girls who want to work a the massage parlor in ques ton. The Book City News will have a chance at 2 p.m., March 10 to show cause why its license shouldn't be revoked for chang ing locations without filing the proper papers with city hall. When it was originally licens ed in November 1968, it was situated at 114 S. 3rd St. Last week, it began operating out of 119% S. Casino Center Blvd., Deputy License and Revenue Director Howard Crow told the commissioners. Crow said his office had no record of a request by owners Lyle and Dorothy Cox to change their address. At 7:30 p.m., Monday, vice detectives entered the new location and arrested an employe, John M. Halas, 42, on seven counts. Two were for do ing business without a license, one for failing to register as an ex-felon and four for outstan ding traffic fines. In another adult-oriented matter, City Atty. Carl Lovell told the commissioners they had been given until Thursday to rule on the masseuse applications of Aline Benchetrit, Martha Chanvez and Thelma Gruber. Lovell and License and Revenue Director Ira Britt in troduced evidence to the effect that the Los Angeles College of Massage and Physical Therapy, which granted the girls diplomas, had misrepresented the amount of study provided. At the suggestion of the com mission, Lovell said he would contact the attorney general of California and complain of the school's alleged misconduct. At the recommendation of Lovell, the commission voted unanimously to deny licenses to the girls, who wanted to work at Baxter Boulet’s Sultan's Palace.
