Later, they identified it as a caco-mlstle, or ring tail, which ordinarily inhabits the dry areas of Southwest Texas and Mexico. Ellison said the animal gave his hounds a good race for about two hours before they finally treed it between Providenceand Joodi ich. I he caeomistle is built like a fox, about the size of a housecat or smaller, and has an oversized coon-like ring tail. He saio he plans to give it to the Lufkin Zoo, or to turn it loose in the woods near where he caught it.
