Spurlin of Demopolis, Alabama, well known in Laurel, has just been named cashier of the Robertson Banking Company of theAlabama city.Mr. Spurlin. who lived in Laurel as a boy, has many friends here who will be interested in news of him. They have kept in touch with him by his visits with his three sisters who live in this city: Mesdames Dawson Winn, Dick Burton and Joe Rumble.A recent issue of the Demopolispaper says:“F. G. Spurlin has been elected cashier of Robertson Banking Company, effective February 1st, which office was relinquished by H. J. Whitfield, who for several years has held the combined office of vice president and cashier of this institution. Mr. Whitfield retains the office of vice president.“Mr.•Spurlin will retain his position as manager of Robertson Banks’ Insurance Agency in addition to his duties with the bank. Mr. Spurlin has been connected with this institution for twenty years, and was an assistant cashier of the bank at the time he resigned to accept the managership of its affiliated insurance agency.“The present officers of Robertson Banking Company are: G. T. Breitling, president and chairman of the board of directors: L. C. Lowe, vice president, H. J. Whitfield, vice president: F. G. Spurlin, cashier; A. G. Westbrook, assistant cashier, and S. W. Harper, assistant cashier.”-o---
