Celebration Planned The American Legion, Post No. 75, of Elsinore will sponsor a cele bration on February 22 for the bi centennial anniversary of the birth of George Washington. An appropriate program will be held at 2:30 p.m. One speaker from the northern part of the state will take part on the pro gram. Other parts will be talks, patriotic readings, music and singing by local people. The cele bration will be concluded with a dance in the Opera house at night. M. I. A. Program The regular M. I. A. conjoint session was held Sunday night, with President Gordon Christensen of the Y. M. M. I. A. in charge of the following program: M. I. A. slogan, conducted by Maxine John son; talk, James Sorensen; girls’ chorus, directed by Miss Mildred Aylett; vocal solo, Mrs. Minnie Sylvester. The boy scouts, direct ed by Scoutmaster Linden Crop per, gave an investiture ceremony awarding badges to Robert and Phil Kotter, Robert Turner, Dean Larson, Eldon Barney, Vern and Chad Hanson, Lawrence Sains bury, George Marquardson and Garth Sorenson, tenderfoot scouts; Keith Christiansen, Jewel Bush, James Kotter and Sylvan MBlarx, second class scouts, Miss LaPreal Tuft of Monroe was a guest Sunday at the home of Miss Maxine Johnson. Mrs. da Orrock of Richfield visit ed at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Christensen, this week, _ Mrs. Delilah Anderton entertain ed a number of friends at dinner Thursday at her home. Mrs. Phyllis Dunn of Josepph visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Braithwaite, during the week. Jack Larson and Mrs. Minnie Goff of Salt Lake, en route to Los Angeles, enjoyed a short stay at the home of their sister, Mrs. Clara Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hill enter tained at a family dinner Tuesday in honor of the birthday annivers ary of their small son, Jimmy. Mr. and Mrs. Wilam Harward spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nel son of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Nelson is a sister of Mr. Harvard. George Anderson celebrated his birthday anniversary Wednesday. Twelve little friends were invited to participate in games and tasty refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gunn, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Jensen and Mr .and Mrs. Bill Harward were guests at a lunch eon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fowles Wednesday night. Miss Elizabeth Sorenson enter tained the members of the Sigma Epsilon Mu club_ at her home Thursday night Miss Sorenson had as special guests the Misses Mildred Aylett, Ora Gledhill, Por tia Sylvester, Mary Anderson, Zola Sorensen, Thelma and Mine Bell and Mrs. Ray De Luche. Bridge was the diverson, Miss Helen Jarrandson winning honors. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Leavitt and children of Joseph spent Saturday at the home of Mrs. Leavitt’s par ents, Mr .and Mrs. J. W. Sylester. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Braithwaite entertained a number of friends at dinner Sunday at their home. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harvard en tertained at dinner Monday for Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hill. Mrs. Rose Sorenson entertained the members of the Ladies Social Circle and their husbands at her home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carr. Mr. and Mrs. August Erickson and son, Miss Pearl Jensen of Sa lina, Dr. Royal Bell of Richfield, Ellis Wade of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hill and Randall Her ring and Mrs. $. Sorenson were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hansen. Chris Anderson and his sister, Mrs. Mary Johnson, went to Salt Lake Monday to bring home Mr. Anderson’s son Gilbert, who, on ac count of illness, is returning home from a mission to the eastern states. Gilbert has spent about one year in the mission field. Randolph Frandsen of Widtsoe visited during the week at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Trea Prandsen.
