PAUL MORCK HAS OBTAINED VALUABLE VIOLIN. \Paul Morck, of Bessemer, violinist and leader of the Rex 1 heatre Orchestra, was in \\ aketield Wednesday in the inter-jest of the Emerson Piano Co.. of which he is representative, i \\ hile in Wakefield he culled at the Advocate office and in answer the query concerning a violin recently brought fromNorway toi him by Mrs. Thos. Ashlund, he produced the following letter,, which is self explanatory:1 Battle Creek. Mich.. January 24. 1922.Mr. Paul Morck. Bessemer, Mich..Dear Sir.—Youi violin and bow have been received and same have been examined carefully. This violin is a genuine Italian instrument—no doubt of it. Possibly a Cremona bid is not a genuine Amati. It hasn’t thedelicacy of workmanshin and exquisite finish of Nicholas Ama-t' • works, I his is particularly noticeable in the scroll, which is quite ordinary. The violin has a splendid, powerful and perfect tone, which we consider quite remarkable. We think it is a Francesco Ruggeri. Cremona, and valut» it at not less than $1000.00. The label is not the original anddoes not have the dark appearance that an original label would have.Lyon Hoalv have a Ruggeri violin, dated 1700, which they value at $1200.00.__ Very truly yours,V. C. Squier Company.
