L. R. Garton came in Monday to have the address of his paper changed to Columbus, Montana; he is on his way, along with J. T. Davis and Har old Mosier. “Incidentally Mr. Garton mentioned that there are probably more subscribers in his immediate family than any other, on our list. Some others are crowding close on the proposition but the T. E. Garton family seems to have her lead. T. E. Garton and four sons and three daugh ters get the New Era, eight in all. At the regular, meeting of Miana Rebekah Lodge, Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCreary, were initi ated. As committee of ten ,men proved themselves excellent caterers, serving a bountiful five course supper, which was enjoyed by all. Owing to so much sickness only thirty members were pent. As who were there are ready to have the same committee serve ‘mush and milk again one who was there. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. McConnell were in Des Moines Friday and attended the banquet given the Iowa publish ers that night by the Greater Des Moines Committee; about 400 were present and enjoyed the all-American talk by Federal Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis of Chicago, who re cently passed sentence on some vio lators of the espionage law and on ‘the president of the Pan-Motor Co., and other nationally ‘known law evaders.
