J. M.€.Jamison is sick with an attack of grip. Roy Day is at home from Law rence for the past week. Whooping cough has made its appearance among the school chil dren. The Odd Fellows lodge of Baldwin entertained the G. A. R.’s Monday night. A banquet and general good time was had. A. Cutter and S. K. Funk attended. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Shaw went to White City, Kansas, last week to attend the wedding of the former’s sister. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Love from Preston, Pratt county, Kansas, are here visiting Mr. Love’s brother and wife, Mr. Verne Love. Miss Ella Gill and Mrs. S. K. Funk visited at the home of Dr. J. S. W. Dean in Baldwin, last Thursday attending the meeting of the W. F. M. society in the after noon. Mrs. George Smith was in Topeka Wednesday and Thursday of last week, shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sturdy and daughter, Edna are here from Green field, Iowa, visiting relatives and old time friends. The Ladies Aid of the M. E. church met with Mrs. W. W. Nye last Wednesday. A pleasant feature of the meeting, was a fruit shower for Mrs. Carl Peer, who was the recipient of nearly 60 quarts of fruit. Seth Fenton and B. A. Stavens shipped cattle to Kansas City, Monday. M. C. Stevens of Rodgers, Arkan sas, came up to see his daughter, who has been having some trouble with her eyes, and upon her physician’s advice, returned home with her father, until such time as her eyes will permit of her resuming her study’s at Baker University.
