Joseph wmill, son of Abraham Gochenoub ro May 8 1848 in Pittsburg Pa He lived a short tiu e in Iowa and was brought. to Wabash county in '57. He enlisted in Co. F. 138th Inf. to '64. In 1871 he married Miss Emma J. Wolgamuth who is now bereft, her grief be?ng the more severe because of the great happiness that came from their life together. They went to housekeeping near Treaty and about 1885 came to R v ann where he engaged in gen ral merchandise in the place now occupied by L. A. Haber’s store.They had no children but reared their niece Hattie Gocbenour now Mrs. Mark Mitten, Wabash, as their own and she filled Well the ploe - of daUiebtfei1 ttf them.} m M *Mr. Gocbenour w.as. elected, state senator at one ticnp anji, moved to Wabash about ten years ago.
