A recent successful attempt at trans fusion of blood, in Ohio, is thus reported the Cleveland Leader. An operation of special interest was performed at Elyria by Dr. H. F. Bigger and assistants. The patient, Peter Beckett, of that town, who is under the immediate treatment of Dr. Peckhan, in the last stage of what is commonly know as stonecutter’s consumption. The patient was greatly reduced and in an anemic condition. Tranfusion of blood was considered worthy of trial as a last resort, every thing that medical skill could accomplish having been done for the patient. This was affected by taking the arterial blood of a lamb, defibrinating it, special care being taken to retain it at the normal temperature of that of the body of the tent, and injecting it into the mechan ilic vein.
