BIGFOOT OR ALIEN? 73- year-old says a creature is roaming the woods and she plans to capture it on film By Larissa Pfeifer The Chronicle DRYAD — A _ 73-year-old woman from Dryad knows what she must do. Ruth Steele now arms her self with a camera, film and a keen eye. She’s scouting for a Bigfoot-type creature she said she’s seen wander ing the area. And Steele said she’s not relenting until she documents the being with a photo. “I made a point to get a camera and film — I'll get that feller,” she said. “No question about it, I seen it. I’m not hallucinating — I’ ve got a good mind.” You see, the Lewis County woman believes she’s spotted either a Sasquatch or some kind of alien three times in the past six months. She didn’t carry a camera with her those times, but she wants to prove what she saw. Each sighting happened near rur al Doty and Dryad on the semiforest ed River Road. It’s on that road Steele takes her evening drive nearly every day after either grocery shop ping or playing bingo. Residences and sheep, dairy, cat tle or llama farms are scattered throughout the area where Steele said she saw the creature. Gray, white and sometimes black fur covered the 7-foot-something tall humanoid Steele said she saw. The animal’s face appeared pink skinned. The creature appeared furry, walked upright and wore no clothing. Steele first saw a creature in Sep tember 1996. The creature had black and dirty-white fur and it looked about 6 or 7 feet tall.
