The Cambridge Circus, a topical satire group will be on campus Thursday to perform their comedy sketches. The group had its origin in England.Pop Artist Series Draws Satirical Cambridge CircusTHE CAMBRIDGE CIRCUS will be following in the tradition of Beyond the Fringe and The Establishment when the Popular Artist Series presents A Revue With Music, next Thursday in Lynn Gymnasium.Originating as a university show al Cambridge, England, the John H. Morris production moved to the West End of London, where it ran for five months.MOUNTING success sent the circus on a six-month tour of New Zealand and Australia, an opening in the Plymouth Theater on Broadway in October 1964, and eventually a move to the Square East.At the Square East (former home of Second City) they opened with a second, highly successful version.PRESENTLY a national company, ’he Circus is directed by John Cleese who also writes most of the company’s material.“Indescribably funny,” says Time Magazine. “Hilarious,” claims the Post. “They are glorious . . . these mad hatters. Royally welcome. Go laugh for yourself,” adds the Herald Tribune.
