Loren K. PorterLoren K. Porter passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at his home 1655 Park ave., Marion, following a brief illness.He was born June 30, 1906 at Unionville, Mo., the son of Finis and Amy Dodd Porter. He was educated in the Bloomfield schools and attended the University of Colorado. On July 5, 1930 at Bethany, Mo., he was married to Freedom Bogle. They moved to Marion from Bloomfield nine years ago. Mr. Porter was employed at the Cryovac Company in Cedar Rapids.'Mr. Porter is survived by his wife; his mother of Bloomfield: two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Joan) Van Horn, Denver, Colo., and Joyce Porter, Marion, who teaches in the Erskine school in Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren: JuLie and Dean Van Horn, Denver: a brother, Claude Porter, Des Moines, and a sister, Ethel Spurgeon, Bloomfield. A brother, Clyde Porter, preceded him indeath.Memorial services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb., 2 at tho Murdoch chapel in Marion by the Rev. Herbert G. Kohl, pastor of the Marion Christian church. Interment was in Cedar Memorial park cemetery.
