A pretty colleen, 17-year-old Eileen Finnegan, 1231 W. 74th, was crowned queen of the Irish Hour Saturday night, Jan. 29, at the radio program's third annual winter dance in Temple hall, 330 S. Marshfield. The dance was sponsored by P. J. Concannon, announcer for the Irish Hour which is broadcast over WGES. Besides the title of queen, Miss Finnegan was awarded a $50.00 prize. Over 1,400 people were present, and the contest was decided by ballot. Queen Eileen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Finnegan, 1231 W. 74th Pl. She is a student at Mercy high school. Her younger sister, Geraldine, won a first prize of $50 last summer for her rendition of a Gaelic song over the Irish Hour’s Amateur Program, Miss Eileen Finnegan
