Matthew T. Patton, who died at Cherry Grove, Jan. 25, 1922, was born in Davis county, Mo., April T, IL#1. He crossed the plains in 1830 and settled with his par ents at Carlton. Later they moved to near Cherry Grove and settled Hove in 1859. He was married to Roxanna Gault, June 28, 1868. He niied with the Methodist church in 1875, and later affliated with the Congregational church. He is survived by his widow, Roxanna, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Snider, of Jennings Lodge, Oregon, and a son, Pem Patton, Cherry Grove. On his immediate family he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sas rah Bates, Gaston, and Mrs. Jane Faden, of Satsep, Wash. Mr. Patton was highly esteem ed by a large circle of friends.
