NUMBER 45.Boys, R8ad This.In the library at the capitalof this State may be found a copy of the revised code of Alabama, compiled by Hon. Turner Reavis, under appointment of Governor Moore, of that State, iu 18G0.Judge Iieavis had been on the beneh of the Circuit Court, of that State, for ten years. Some of the oldest citizens of Raleigh, will recollect this same Turner Reavis as a shop boy in the bakery and candy store of old Mr. Bacchardi, who did business in the city within the recollection of the present inhabitants. The Turner Reavis of the Bacchardi candy and cake shop in Raleigh, and the Hon. Turner KeavU, Judge of the Circuit Courts, and compiler of the revised code of Alabama, are oue aud the same person. He raised himself by his own unaided efforts from the shop to the bench. Boys, many of you can do the same; or at least as well, if you pursue thcsameindustrions course that he did.—[Raleigh Index. ■ v i 11 r in • _
