HOUSE OF COMMONS—Tuesday.NEW WRITS.—On the motion of Mr. YOUNG, new writs wered ordered for South Wilts, in the room of Mr. William Sidney Herbert, who had accepted the office of Secretary at War; for the borough of Buckingham, in the room of Sir Thomas Freemantle, who had accepted the office of Cnief Secretary of Ireland ; for the borough of Stamford, in the room of Sir George Clerk, who had accepted the office of Master of the Mint....On the motion of Mr. HAWES, a new writ was ordered for the county of Tipperary, in the room of the Honourable Robert Otway Cave,deceasedNOTICES OF MOTIONS.—Sir C. NAPIER : To move on the 13th of February for a select committee to inquire how the money voted since 1835 for the navy had been expended, whac new snips had been constructed, and what improvement had taken place under toe new system LordASHLEY : To move on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for leave to bring in a bill to regulate the hours of labour in factories (hear, hear).... Mr. HUME: To move on that day fortnight for the appointment of a Select Committee to inquire into the state Qi lighthouses and bouys under the management of the Trinity House, and the expenses of maintaing the same; and a simitar one as regarded the Dublin Ballast Board.. .. Mr. W AKLEY, for that day week, to tnove an inquiry respecting me qualifications of medical men appointed to poor-law unions.. ..Dr. BO WRING, for the ilthof February, to move for a select committee to inquire into the state of the public accounts, and to propose certain resolutions to amend the same.... Mr. MACKINNON, for that day fortnight, to caii the attention of the house to the necessity of improving health of towns, by preventing intermeuts within them.... Mr. T. DUNCOMBE, for that day fortnight, to call the at* tention of the house to the delusive and unsatisfactory nature of the report tnade by the committee appointed in the previous session to inquire info the opening ot letters in the Post Office.... Mr. WALLACE to move for leave to briag in a bill to amend the first section of the Act of William IV., having reference to appellate jurisdiction in Scotland. .... Mr, WaKLEY, for Friday next, to move for a copy of the petition presented by the College of Surgeons, on the *th of Septamber last, relative to their charter.
