MRS. KATHERINE HEISNER Frankfort 5187 The PTA of the Frankfort Grade school will meet at the school on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 pm. Mr. Leonard Patterson, the president, will preside, Mr. Frank Buchtel, athletic director of Bloom Township High school will be the guest speaker for the eve ning. He will talk about the lack of physical fitness in our children. After the talk there will be a question and answer period. The program will be a Founder's Day program with special recognition of all past presidents, Hostesses for the evening will be the fourth grade mothers, with Mrs. Walter Mark, chairman; the fathers will serve the refreshments. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. The American Legion Auxili ary will meet at the home of Mrs. Melvin Eastman this eve ning with Mrs. Eastman, the president, presiding. Refresh ments will be served by Mrs. Orville Schinkowski and Mrs. William Seemann. Several of the Auxiliary members went to Wilmington on Wednesday to the Soldiers and Sailors Wi dow’s Home to entertain the 90 ladies there. The afternoon was spent playing games after which, cupcakes and orange juice was served by the Aux iliary. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Heisner and son Douglas motored to Charleston last Sunday to spend the day with the Heisner’s daughter, Nancy, a student at Eastern State Teachers college there. They all dined out at the Dinner Bell in Mattoon in honor of Nancy's birthday. Roger Christiansen and Ger ald Piepenbrink returned home last Monday from a tour of over 6000 miles going through the southwestern states and a long the gulf coast. Mrs. George Elsner enter tained the Frankfort-Mokena Home Bureau Unit at a family night Saturday evening. Cards were played and prizes were awarded Mrs. George Elsner, Mrs. Franklin Weber, Walter Welsch and Fred Piepenbrink. The Frankfort-Mokena Home Bureau Unit met at the home of Mrs. George Smego Feb. 1. A dessert and coffee was serve d by Mrs. Smego, Mrs. Walter Welsch led the pledge to the flag, Roll call was taken with ‘‘My favorite Valentine’, Ma jor lesson was ‘Your money's worth in furniture’ given by Mrs. George Elsner and Mrs. Ray Westlund, The minor les son ‘Does your humor show’ was given by Mrs. Westlund. Each member was given a household inventory booklet furnished by the extension ser vice of the University of Illinois. The mystery guest prize was awarded to Mrs. George Smego.
