“Bride of Two Weeks Is Guest at Miscellaneous Shower. Mrs. Abelelles, who was Miss Beatrice Bustamente until her marriage two weeks ago, was hon ored at a miscellaneous shower given by her mother, Mrs. T. Bustamente, a few nights ago. L. Allreds Have Enchilada Supper Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Allred en tertained guests at an enchilada supper at their home last night, honoring Miss Hannah Wood, their house guest from Mexico. Others present were Messrs, and Mes dames Meade Ryan, J. D. DeWitt, T. T. Schofield, W. ©. Blackburn, and Messis, Menzies Wyper and John Farr. Mrs. Allred won as sisted in serving by her daughters, Bessie and Naomi, and Miss Wood. The evening was spent in playing games and engaging in contests, Rev. Patten and Miss Barnett Address Club. The Gallup Woman's club lis tened intently to two addresses yesterday, Rev. H. B. Patten chose as his subject the moral cleanup of Gallup, Miss Agnes Bartlett talked in famous’ birthdays,which included Washington, Lincoln, Lonifellow, Emerson and Lind bergh, all of whom were born in February. Miss Bartlett empha sized three points, vision, “and faith, with patriotism the underly ing liceme, Miss Bartlett also brought out the fact at the end of her talk, that the cod liver on which the Gallup Woman's club 's furnishing the Gallup public schools, the Sa cred Heart schools and the schools at the mines, to undernournished children, had brought up attend ance, weight and mental aptitude. A covered dish Valentine lunch eon to be served at 12, noon, Wednesday, Feb. ,14, was planned for, when all past “presidents of the club and all teachers will be guests. This luncheon will be the start of a membership drive, Mra. Mary Bennett made a mo tion that the president requests Mrs. Wolf to write Indian Com missioner John Collier, setting forth her ideas as to why the cen tralized Indian agency be placed hear Gallup. Roll call was answered by mem bers giving some, detail of travel, or current event, Mrs. Robertson Is Honor Guest at Tea, Mrs. Arch Robertson, who with her husband leaves Gallup Sunday morning to Wve in Durango, Colo., was honor guest at a tea of beau tiful appointments at the F. S . Lawrence home yesterday after noon, . Mrs. L. K. Hellar was co hostess with Mrs. Lawrence. The tea table was embellished with a low bowl of red sweet peas, with lighted red tapera on either side, thus carrying out a Valentine mot if. Mrs. W. B. Johnson and Mrs. Grover Phillips, who poured the first hour, were relieved by Mrs. Wiliam Bickel and Mrs. W. E. Clarke. Mrs. D. B. Clarke and Mrs. Marshal. Wylie assisted in serving. Many new spring outfits were In evidence, as the warm weather has made Gallup women long for new dresses and hats. Guests In vited for this affair included Mrs. Robertson’s old friends and club associates. Dropping in during the tens hours to wish the honoree much happiness in her new home were Mesdames E. E. Aston were joint hostesses to the Altar society yesterday after noon at the home of the former. Plans were completed for the ben efit luncheon bridge to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in K. Watson was hostess to the Wednesday Contract club yes terday afternoon with Mrs. Brown of Albuquerque and Mrs. J. W. Stof er as guests. Members engaging in the games were Mesdames J. J. Kirk, Marie Watson, Dominic Rol Me, R. J. Poplin, E. A. Frick and Boone Pugh. Mrs. Stofer won high score prize and the afternoon games were brought to a close with the serving of light refreshments. H. C. Neuffer, superintendent of Irrigation in the U. S. Indian service arrived in Gallup yesterday to make some Inspection trips to nearby res ervations, C.
