Marist High School senior Timothy Mulcahy was recently presented with the WGN-TV Channel 9 Extra EffortAward by Roseanne Tellez, weekendanchor.The award is sponsored by WGN, Lewis University and Walgreens to honor those high school students who are exceptional in school and throughout the community.Currently student council president, he is a member of the National Honor Society, Students Against Drunk Driving and lettered in football for four years.Tim volunteers daily at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, as a part of the senior service program. He also recently initiated the school-wide paper recycling program.• • •Oak Forest High School has announced the named the students who are members of the academically talented program.They include Chris Bailey, Kristie Barry, Ann Basile, Sue Cerven, Ryan Chamberlain, Kelly Chavanne, Michelle Corrado, Maria Cozzo, BrianDainton. Eric Seiner, Julie Spencer, Rebecca Wilkins, Kevin Wood, Erin Woolley and Stacie Yaeger.• • •The sixth grade students at Lane School in Alsip recently completed the DARE program presented by Officer David McKee of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.During a graduation program, Rob Logan and Greg Sullivan read their winning essays.• • •Twenty-two Oak Forest High School biology students recently visited the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.Attending were Dean Bronske, Ann Culver, Ed Fagan, Amy Harman, Alan Hinz, Traci Kimmer, Ed Kuhn-hofer.
