BRILLIANT FLAMES DANCE ABOUT ON A RAILROAD TRACK, Some of Them Jump into the Air and Burst-Whence Do They Come? is the Query—They Disappering Men Approach People residing near the Peanut railroad, on the highway leading from Corfu to In dian Falls, are very much disturbed over the appearance of supernatural lights on the railroad in their vicinity. As the story is told, several times within the past week lights resembling the flames of a large lamp have been seen dancing about on the track within a few feet from the ground on both sides of the road. It was thought at first that there were men on the track carrying lanterns, but on account of the unusual ac tivity displayed by these supposed men, an investigation was made by persons who had witnessed the sight, and it was ascertained the lights were not from lanterns and there were no human beings in sight. It i8 reported that one person of an in quisitive attire attempted to approach one of the flames, but it suddenly disappeared from view. The lights are said to be very brilliant. They are seen between the hours of 8 o'clock and midnight. Sometimes there are but three and at other times there are fifteen or twenty. One person who has witnessed the phe nomena says that frequently one of the flames will burst, shooting forth a number of smaller flames which instantly disappear. On both sides of the railroad lse a large swamp, but the lights are seen only over the track. A number of persons have signified their intention of following up these strange and erratic illuminations and, if possible, fathom the mystery.
